Medsquare at the 2017 French radiology congress (JFR): RDM’s new features and the 2013/59/Euratom directive

On the occasion of the 2017 French radiology congress (JFR), which will be held from 13 – 16 October, Medsquare (booth 233 – level 2) will present the latest features of its Radiation Dose Monitor (RDM) patient dose monitoring solution:

• Automatic dose report (Statistical Report and Patient Report)
• Organ dose: calculation of the organ dose in Nuclear Medicine and in scanner
• Effective dose: calculation of the effective dose in Nuclear Medicine and in scanner
• Simulation tools for organ dose and effective dose
• Pivot table: ability to have synthetic tables, which facilitate the interpretation and relevance of the dose data
• And many more!

Florent Jault, Product Specialist RDM, comments: “The JFR is a great opportunity to present RDM’s latest features. The solution is evolving thanks especially to the suggestions and recommendations of our users. Indeed, our mission is to remove the barriers between an idea and its implementation. Our customers’ expertise and feedback form a strong pillar to better meet their expectations and establish with each of them a long-term relationship.”

RDM’s contribution in the context of the 2013/59/Euratom directive

The JFR event also highlights the imminent application of the 2013/59/Euratom directive (click here to learn more). As we approach its transposition into the EU Member States’ national legislation by 6 February 2018, it is useful to review this context in order to understand the changes it will impose on hospitals and healthcare professionals.

“This year, we’re communicating about the contribution of RDM in the context of the 2013/59/Euratom directive,” says Karen Frangie, Communication Leader Medsquare. “The adoption of this directive and its incorporation into national laws will inevitably provoke a response from healthcare professionals. They will question their level of compliance more systematically, involving the principles of justification, optimization, quality management system, radiation protection, dose tracking, etc. The directive will lead healthcare professionals to be particularly vigilant. Thus, RDM will be the solution of choice to help healthcare professionals meet all of the directive’s recommendations.”

Medsquare 2017: a growing success and partner of Carestream, Fujifilm and Siemens Healthineers

During 2017, Medsquare continued to grow both in terms of RDM deployments and in collaboration with new partners. At the end of several competitive evaluations, Medsquare was preferred over other DACS suppliers and was selected by 3 major manufacturers: Carestream, Fujifilm and Siemens Healthineers in different regions of the world.

“These collaborations demonstrate both the quality of the RDM solution and the growing visibility enjoyed by Medsquare,” said Dominique Gabriel, Medsquare CEO. “Building on our previous successes, we’re joining forces with new alliances to help healthcare professionals meet the requirements of the European directive. By combining innovative solutions with high value-added services, we offer healthcare professionals the opportunity to strengthen patient radiation safety in their services. These alliances with a European scope will shortly be extended to the entire global ecosystem,” he added.
